For those of you who may not remember or know, we met while working at the Home Depot back in 2005. Erol had moved away to Florida before I was hired on at Depot and when he decided he wanted to come back to California, he came back to a reputation. I was called into our boss' office before Erol started back in our store to be warned that he had a bit of a reputation and that he would probably try to flirt with me. I was kind of freaked out because, I have to admit, when I heard his name I thought he was going to be an old man! When I saw him for the first time, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself. Here was this young guy, wearing baggy pants and a shirt 2 sizes too big, and I thought to myself he wouldn't have a chance, even if he tried!! After a few months of only having conversations that involved work, we ended up hanging out outside work a few times with our groups of friends from Depot. Little by little we became friends and we slowly started hanging out more and more by ourselves. After dating off and on for a couple months we finally decided one great night in May that we wanted to be exclusive. We moved in together about three months later and started to talk about our future together. We decided to start by getting a puppy. One day while working at Depot, Erol saw a customer walking around the store with a puppy in each hand. He asked the guy if they were for sale and after he said yes, Erol told him to go to the carpet desk where I was sitting. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a body walk around the corner and when I turned to greet him I saw the puppies he was holding. I couldn't help but let out a little scream. They were so cute!! When Erol walked around the corner and saw me cheek-to-cheeck with the puppy, he knew he couldn't say no. When he asked me if I wanted to keep her, of course I said yes, but I expected him to say no. To my surprise he smiled real big and said "OK". And that is how our family started. Now we have a beautiful dog named Bailey and a wonderful cat named Cleo. We also have a new addition to our little family!! His name is Kane and he is a pug. He too comes from Home Depot, just like Bailey and he is adorable. We also recently bought a house!! We bought it in the begining of November and Erol has been working very hard to make it the house of our dreams!! It is the perfect house to begin our new life together in!!
Our wedding will be held in Carmel, CA on the beach. It will be a comfortable and casual event, a come-as-you-are kind of wedding. No need to wear shoes, dress up all fancy or go out and buy a new outfit, of course unless you want to. Because we are both very family oriented, my cousin Jesse will be preforming the ceremony and we will be writing the whole thing so that it will reflect who we are as a couple. We wanted someone to marry us that knew us then and now; that has watched us grow as a couple and could tell our story because they lived it with us. We didn't want a complete stranger standing there reading from a piece of paper that has our story written on it, who might even forget or mispronounce our names.
The reception will be held at the Hyatt in Monterey, CA following the ceremony. It will be a time for everyone to let loose and party hardy! Since it is hard enough to get our families in the same state at the same time, this event will be a wonderful and momentous occassion since everyone will be together for the first time, under one roof. For those who can not make it to Carmel/Monterey, we will be having a Bar-B-Que at a local park after we return from our Honeymoon. By then we should have our photos back from the ceremony and reception in Carmel and Monterey that we can share with everyone who was unable to make it. Also, we will have the pictures from our Honeymoon that we can share with all!
We are so very greatful to all of our friends and family. You all mean so much to us and have made us the people we are today. We could not be here today without your love and support and for that we thank you!! Muah!!
